A score looks wrong

Open the badge on the product page and click Report incorrect info. Choose a reason and add a note, such as a link showing where the product is really made. The more specific, the easier it is to fix.

Common questions

I don't see a score on a product page

The extension only works on amazon.in and flipkart.com (not amazon.com). If the page is open, reload it, or click the Kitna Indian icon in the toolbar and choose Re-scan page. Flipkart sometimes changes its page layout, which can stop the badge appearing until the extension is updated.

It says "Not Enough Data"

The brand isn't in the dataset yet, and the listing doesn't show a country of origin or manufacturer address. Rather than guess, the extension says so. Reporting it helps get the brand added.

Why do some search results have no score?

Search result cards only show a title. If the brand isn't recognised from the title, no score is shown, because a grey zero would wrongly suggest "not Indian".

What does "est." mean?

The score was estimated from the brand, because search cards don't show country of origin. Open the product once and its measured score replaces the estimate next time it appears in a search.

What does "provisional" mean?

A single weak signal is doing most of the work, so the score is shown but should be read with caution.

How accurate are the scores?

Design and assembly can usually be checked against public information and the listing itself. Manufacturing is harder: there is no public register of how much of a product's value is added in India, so those figures are researched estimates. Each brand has a confidence level, shown on the badge.

What is the "local API" setting in the popup?

It's for developers running their own copy of the dataset server. Most people can ignore it, or turn it off. Nothing is sent anywhere either way. See the privacy policy.

How do I remove my data?

Everything is stored on your device. Removing the extension deletes it.
