Kitna IndianPrivacy Policy

Kitna Indian is a Chrome extension that shows how Indian a product on Amazon.in or Flipkart is. This policy explains what the extension reads, what it stores, and where that data goes.
Short version: the extension has no server of its own. It collects no personal data, uses no analytics, and sends nothing to the developer or to anyone else.
What the extension reads
The extension runs only on amazon.in and flipkart.com pages. On those pages it reads the product details already shown to you, such as the title, brand, country of origin, manufacturer or importer address, and barcode. It uses these to calculate a score in your browser.
It does not read any other website. It does not read your account details, order history, cart, payment information, addresses, or anything you type on those sites.
What the extension stores
Everything is kept in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device:

The developer cannot see any of this. To delete it, remove the extension, or clear its storage from chrome://extensions.
Where data goes
- Nowhere by default. Scoring uses a brand dataset bundled with the extension, and nothing is sent over the network.
- The optional local API. Developers who run their own copy of the Kitna Indian API can let the extension use it. It is set to
http://127.0.0.1:8787, an address on your own computer. If that API is running, the extension downloads the brand dataset from it, and sends it any correction you choose to submit. If it isn't running, the request fails straight away and nothing leaves your device. You can switch this off in the extension popup.
The extension does not sell or share data, does not use it for advertising or credit decisions, and does not use it for anything except the feature described above.
Remote code
The extension runs no remotely hosted code. All of its JavaScript ships inside the extension package.
Children
The extension is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
